Burns Night Celebrations

Ashleigh has been a valued member of Potential Living for three years, working predominantly within our Response on Call team. She is always willing to lend a hand across different services and has a natural affinity with everyone she meets.

Combining Studies with Community Spirit

In addition to her role at Potential Living, Ashleigh is studying at Highlands and Islands University in Perth to become a Home Economics teacher. As part of her degree, she was tasked with planning and delivering an event of her choice. She chose to organise a Burns Supper event for our very own focus people at Potential Living, a wonderful way to combine her studies with her passion for supporting others.

A Traditional Burns Supper Celebration

The event featured a beautifully decorated entrance and dining room, setting the perfect atmosphere for the evening. The meal was introduced by the talented piper, Dave Mason, whose stirring performance evoked a range of emotions, from elation to tears, while our focus people enjoyed a wee jig to the music.

Of course, no Burns Supper would be complete without the national dish… haggis, neeps, and tatties. For those who preferred an alternative, macaroni was also on the menu, along with a selection of puddings. And in true Scottish tradition, the meal was toasted with Barr’s Irn Bru in honour of the Bard.

A Team Effort

Our heartfelt thanks go to Ashleigh and her ‘team’ of support workers who volunteered their time to make the event such a success. Their effort and enthusiasm ensured a memorable evening for all.
